The Office of the Administrator-General and Official Receiver is responsible for:

a)      Undertaking administration of estates of persons who die testate (with a Will) in accordance with the provisions of the Wills and Administration of Testate Estates Act, Cap 60 of the Laws of Zambia where the Administrator General is appointed executor;

b)      Undertaking administration of estates of persons who die Intestate (without a Will) in accordance with the Intestate Succession Act, Cap 59 of Laws of Zambia;

c)      Undertaking administration of estates of bankrupt persons in accordance with the Bankruptcy Act, Cap 82 of the Laws of Zambia;

d)      Providing oversight over Receivers and liquidators of Companies under the provisions of the Corporate Insolvency Act, No. 9 of 2017; and

e)      Performing the functions of Receiver or Provisional Liquidator where the Official Receiver is appointed as such.
