Governance & Planning Department
The Governance Department is mandated to “promote the application of good governance principles and practices” in the country. The Department is also mandated to carry out the planning portfolio of the Ministry. Further, the Department is mandated to facilitate and coordinate activities under the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM). In addition, the Department provides technical and secretariat services to the Cluster Advisory Group (CAG) of Pillar 5 under the Seventh National Development Plan. The Governance Department consists of five units, namely; a) Access to Justice; b) Economic Governance, Accountability and Transparency; c) Socio-economic and Corporate Governance; d) Democracy, Political Governance and Human Rights; and e) Monitoring and Evaluation.
